BOAT FARM B&B and Self Catering Cottages
Boat Farm is situated on the banks of the North Tyne, a pleasant one mile walk from Bellingham along the riverside path or the single tarmac lane leading to the farm which is now a retired working farm enjoying the peace and quite of the surrounding countryside.
The cottages have been converted from the old stone byre situated next to the farmhouse.
Heron cottage sleeps 4. Otter cottage sleeps 2.

Bellingham, on the edge of the Northumberland National Park, is centrally located for visiting the many attractions Northumberland has to offer. Kielder Water, Hadrian's Wall, Lindisfarne and the Northumberland coast, the stately homes of Cragside, Wallington, Alnwick Castle and Gardens all provide an enjoyable day out. Mountain bike at Kielder, walk the Wall and the wild isolated hills of the Cheviots or simply relax by the river with a good book and a glass of wine.
Pets are not allowed in either the B&B or the cottages.

Cragside
The revolutionary home of Lord Armstrong, Victorian inventor and landscape genius, was a wonder of its age. Built on a rocky crag high above the Debdon Burn, Cragside is crammed with ingenious gadgets and was the first house in the world to be lit by hydroelectricity. Surrounding the house on all sides is one of the largest rock gardens in Europe. Across the iron bridge, in the formal garden, is the Orchard House, which still produces fresh fruit. The lakeside walks, adventure play area and labyrinth are all good reasons for children to visit Cragside again and again
Wallington
Dating from 1688 Wallington was home to many generations of the Blackett and Trevelyan families, who all left their mark. The result is an impressive, yet friendly, house with a magnificent interior and fine collections. The remarkable Pre-Raphaelite central hall was decorated to look like an Italian courtyard and features a series of paintings of Northumbrian history by William Bell Scott. The formality of the house is offset by the tranquil beauty of the surrounding landscape ¿ with lawns, lakes, parkland and woodland. The beautiful walled garden, with its varied plant collection and charming conservatory, is an enchanting must-see.
Alnwick Gardens
There's so much to explore at The Alnwick Gardens including acres of fascinating plants, water sculptures, the infamous Poison Garden and one of the world's largest wooden tree houses, 364 days a year. Throughout April we celebrate bulbs and blossoms with the Tulip Festival and the Cherry Blossom Festival. May is a magical month, celebrating the wonderful world of stories and storytelling.

Alnwick Castle is the second largest inhabited castle in England and has been the home of the Percys, Earls and Dukes of Northumberland since 1309, making this year the 700 year anniversary.

We have the fishing rights for the stretch of river along Boatfarm and fishing is available from the Riverdale Hall Hotel (www.riverdalehallhotel.co.uk) and permits can be bought from the post office in Bellingham. There is fishing at Kielder Water (www.visit-kielder.com) and at Sweethope Lough (www.sweethope.co.uk)
